Education Bytes — Oracle Red Bull Racing

From data to crucial race decisions: Explore NEW Oracle Academy Education Bytes

Oracle Academy has teamed up with Oracle Red Bull Racing to launch three exciting new Education Bytes that immerse students in fast-paced Formula 1® racing while building real-world technology skills. This collaboration transforms technology education into immersive, high-energy learning experiences.

Learners build practical programming, game development, cloud, and data analytics skills using the latest industry-relevant technologies, connecting academic learning to real-world challenges faced by professional developers, engineers, and data analysts.

Reactions Tester Game

Build. Race. Analyze.

Inspired by the lightning-fast reflexes required at F1 race starts, this activity challenges students to build their own reaction-time game using Java and Greenfoot. Along the way, they learn programming fundamentals, game mechanics, responsive controls, and how professional developers design and optimize software.

Test Track

Code at racing speed.

Across five hands-on modules, students create a complete F1-inspired racing game using Java and Greenfoot. They develop game worlds, movement systems, animations, sound effects, physics, timing systems, and race analytics, while learning coding, testing, and data management skills. They then use Oracle APEX, SQL, and databases to transform race data into interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations that mirror real-world performance analysis.

Dashboard

From data to decisions.

In this advanced learning experience, students build and deploy a professional racing telemetry dashboard on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, simulating the data-driven environments used by Formula 1 teams. They provision cloud resources, configure networks, deploy applications, and stream live telemetry data—including speed, braking, throttle, G-forces, and tire behavior—to a real-time dashboard, gaining experience with cloud technologies, analytics, and performance monitoring. This exercise mirrors how Formula 1 teams analyze performance, optimize strategy, and make split-second decisions during races.

Involve your students in the excitement of Formula 1 motorsport while they learn key technology concepts and skills!
