Róisín Faherty

The spotlight is on Róisín Faherty, Lecturer, Department of Computing, Technical University Dublin, Ireland.

Technical University Dublin (TU Dublin) is Ireland’s first technological university, established in 2019. It is the biggest university in Ireland, with approximately 28,000 students. The university offers study in science, arts, business, engineering, and technology, with campuses in Dublin City, Tallaght, and Blanchardstown. Dublin is the capital of Ireland and is a thriving cosmopolitan city that acts as a base for several technology companies.

Róisín Faherty is a lecturer in the Department of Computing at the Tallaght Campus in TU Dublin. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and a master’s degree in Information Technology for Strategic Management. She recently started her PhD program in the area of Computer Science Education. Before becoming a lecturer, Faherty worked as a software developer providing online, interactive training for a range of companies. In addition to her role as a lecturer at TU Dublin, she has published a number of articles in major computer science education publications in the past few years.

TU Dublin uses Oracle Application Express (Oracle APEX) and the Oracle Academy Cloud Program for teaching the introductory and advanced database modules within their curriculum. Watch the videos to find out more.
